Environment
Loaches are very similar to sucker fish. Loaches are bottom dwellers which means
they will stay low down in a creek. They like slow moving water so it is best to get a
system that will move the water around. Aeration systems should be provided to
ensure that they get plenty of oxygens to their gills. Add a filtration system to remove
harmful bacteria and droppings. Clean the tank at least once a month. This will give
your Loach a healthy environment. Pebbles make a great substrate to use for the
bottom of your aquarium. Add plants and hiding places to help make your Loach feel
like its in its natural environment. Caves are great hiding spots for your pet Loach.
Behavior
Loaches will not fight with other fish but they are not really community fish. You can
add a Loach to clean the bottom of your aquarium. Loaches can be added to almost
any aquarium. If you have more than one Loach they will not fight but they will pretty
much completely ignore each other. Loaches love to hang out at the bottom of the
tank because they love deep water.
Food
Loaches will eat algae at the bottom of the tank. You do not really have to feed your
Loach because they are mainly scavengers. Loaches should be used for big tanks
that have a lot of algae.
